Starting the 2nd half off with a BANG

(PS: This photo was not taken on race day!)

I finished 14th today here in Cesana (Torino), Italy. BIG BANG! haha There’s another race tomorrow so hopefully I’ll be able to redeem myself. I’m very disappointed but it is what it is. I trained well all week and thought I had figured out the track for the most part. The only difference today… the ice was about 5 degrees warmer and it was snowing heavily with winds up to 30mph. The snow affected our start times but the track is well covered the rest of the way down so I don’t think it altered the results. I kind of wish I could blame it on the elements but I had two very skiddy runs. As I came out of a majority of the curves, the back end of my sled pushed out from under me so my runners would be traveling slightly sideways down the straights… which is NOT fast. Haha I’m still trying to figure out what caused the problem since I felt relaxed and straight on my sled. Who knows? I’ll give it some more thought tonight and come up with a game plan for tomorrow.

I’m sitting in my room right now watching it snow sideways… gross! Hope the weather is better tomorrow but it doesn’t look promising.
