First Race!!!! Trials 2008

I was warming up today and had a funny thought…. Team trials is kind of like opening a present. You anticipate what’s inside the box just like you wonder what the outcome of the race will be. Hopefully you’re not at a white elephant party and want to exchange gifts/places with someone else once you find out what it is! Haha Seriously, part of me just wants to know how things will end up because I'm so anxious to start the season. There's something uneasy (yet exciting) not knowing where I'll be two weeks from today... It all depends on which tour I end up on.

Today, I finished 3rd. I think I’ll keep my present for now... it’s a good place to be with three more races ahead of me. Team trials is so tough this year because they’re only taking 2 girls from this race series for the World Cup Team. Katie already has a by based on her outstanding results last season and previous world champions, Noelle, has returned after having a baby. Like I said, there’s some tough racing to make World Cup this year!

I may not be in the top two, but I was happy with my sliding today. My draw was horrible being off last but it’s hard to say if it affected my time. I put down the best run I’ve had all season but the clock didn’t quite reflect that. That’s just how it goes sometime, but all in all, it still gave me confidence for tomorrow. Now it’s time to unwind, rest, recover and prepare myself for another big day. I’ll keep you posted!
